Who is OCFoodieGirl you ask? Why a food blog you ask?
Born and bred in Southern California and raised most of my life in Orange County it's been fascinating seeing the food culture evolve. While growing up in OC I always felt we had a great food -- seriously, who didn't love the amazing tacos at Taqueria de Anda or the best comfort food at the La Palma Chicken Pie Shop. I always thought we had some good high end dining too like the old Dal Rae, La Vie on Rose, the Ruben E Lee or even the still standing Five Crowns - I think everyone who grew up in Orange County has eaten at least one of these for graduation or prom or some other special occasion.
Of course, if I compare then OC to now OC, it's a world of difference. Orange County has really come a long way - we've grown up quite a bit and who would've dreamed we now have restaurants in Orange County that win 'Best New Restaurants' nominations from Bon Appetit (i.e. Little Sparrow) and appear on Jonahton Gold's Best list (i.e. Taco Maria)
So why a food blog? Well, over time I've evolved to be the 'go-to' person for friends when they need a restaurant recommendation. I've been a yelp elite for years and am currently a yelp gold on my way to black so I spend quite a bit of time doing reviews and taking pictures of food so figured why not parlay that into an actual blog!
